The One With All The Wedding Planning

We are just under the three month mark for our wedding day, and I am relieved to say that nearly every decision has been made. I'm pretty sure I can thank our fabulous wedding coordinator, Lisa for that! This week we had our food tasting. Since I'm obsessed with food and I plan my days around my meals, this was clearly one of my favorite parts of wedding planning. I have not been to many weddings where the food is enjoyable. Mass prepared chicken and steak for 200 people tends to be hit or miss. Since weddings are outrageously expensive, I hated the idea of spending $150 per person for food that they probably won't really enjoy. Luckily, our venue offers another option: Food Stations. My family and I used to go to the Queen Mary for brunch rather frequently, and their brunch was set up as stations. There were pasta stations, meat carving stations, seafood stations, salad stations, dessert stations…and the list goes on. I always loved it because there was so much variety. I would load up my plate with everything from ravioli to enchiladas to sushi. Well, our reception will be similar to this. We were debating on whether to go with a more traditional, plated dinner, or to be different and go with food stations. We had our tasting on Tue and the deal was sealed. We tasted options from all the different stations that we wanted, and they were DE. LICIOUS. So, food stations it is. We also had our "details" appointment with our coordinator, and our entire day is pretty much mapped out. We have a fun weekend in store for us. I didn't think much about my wedding growing up, but one thing I knew I wanted was a weekend long event. I wanted to get married somewhere were everyone could stay, and I wanted to stretch it out over a weekend as the day itself tends to fly by. We definitely achieved that with our venue. It is a beautiful beachside resort in one of my fav cities (San Diego) with lots to do. We are heading down to Paradise Point on Thu night, and having a night on the town in Gaslamp. On Fri, we plan to have a relaxing girls day with the wedding party…nails, massages, pool, etc. Friday night, my in-laws to be are hosting a wonderful rehearsal dinner (it's nearly the size of the wedding!). Saturday is the big day, and then Sun morning, we are having a brunch at the Barefoot Bar and Grill which is at the resort.

Check out the view from the Barefoot Bar & Grill.

And the view from the ceremony site
And then the view from the deck connected to the ballroom.
Soo, it's definitely going to be a whirlwind of a weekend, but I can't wait!!
